As much as I hope the America's Cup mess will be finally sorted out... So many of us have got on with our lives (as much as possible), sick of waiting for a positive outcome, I am not holding my breath... But of course, I hope I am wrong.
A FINAL MEETING?
After more than a year of litigation in the New York courts, it has now been revealed that Larry Ellison, the head of the BMW ORacle Syndicate is to meet this week in California with Ernesto Bertarelli, the head of the Alinghi syndicate to try and bury the hatchet and end their legal dispute. It was Mr Bertarelli last week who gave the talks a chance when he stated Larry and I are much closer in our thinking than the media believe. If the talks work out satisfactorily, the competition could be back on the waters off Valencia in a matter of months, with the aim of celebrating the first races in 2009 using the Version five craft that were used in the Americas Cup 2007, with 90-ft craft being used in 2010 and a year later for the championship
