You have probably seen the horse billboards around town for the Cavalia show. Our friends Jurgen and Mike are raffling off 4 free tickets for the Saturday night show. The odds of winning are probably pretty high. The tickets go from 35 to 300 + euros.

Just go to their Blog holavalencia.net and follow the instructions. You just have to send them an email with the answer to the question, "How long does it take to train a horse for Cavalia?" The answer is here, heck it is "6 months to 10 years".

Power Walk, Coffee Catch Up etc

Hola everyone.

It is only 3 weeks until I head off for Christmas holiday's and the numbers of who around is also slowly depleting.

I am trying to cram in quite a few things between now and then but do intend to still do the Power Walk and try and get to the coffee catch ups.

What I will ask of now, is if you intent to come to Power Walk, please text me so I know I have interest. I have got a heap of other things I can be doing, but I still need the motivation to get out walking, but will only do it if I have numbers.

I am also still getting numbers for Helen's Christmas Cooking class so please if you are interested, let me know.

Furniture for Sale

I am selling some furniture a behalf of a friend.
All of the furniture is from Ikea and is in really good condition.

There are cupboards, drawers, two children's beds, tables with drawers under that roll out, bookshelf, kids table and chairs, assorted small tables and chairs plus more. Adults bed, fridge and washing machine are available but needed until January.

The prices are from 10 euros and the average cupboard is from 50 - 120 euros. Or the highest offer gets the goods. More pictures available

Shoe Outlet

A new factory outlet has just opened in Paterna, near to the Carrefour. I visited the mother factory store in Elche last year and they had thousands of shoes and boots for all the family at really good prices. For the Valencia outlet, if you go to the Carrefour Paterna, at that final roundabout, take the La Canyada turn, at the next roundabout, turn left towards the industrial estate, take the first right and it is on the corner on your right. I went today and bought one pair and they gave me a voucher for an additional 15% discount of my next purchase, so if you like their shoes, buy one pair, get your voucher and then buy some more!!!

After suffering all the vagaries of RyanAir, Valencia Airport took refuge and comfort in the announcement made yesterday that Delta Airlines is to start a non-stop service between Manises and JFK in New York as of next June. The carrier also revealed that there would be four flights a week, and that it was estimated that this new route would add as many as fifty thousand passengers a year passing through Manises. The announcement came after the Valencian Tourist Board convinced the company that Valencia was a secure location, but also helping considerably were the major events staged in the City such as Formula 1 and the Americas Cup Delta revealed that it would be using Boeing 757s for the flights with sixteen seats in BusinessElite class and 158 in tourist class

Book Swap Night! (A Not-so-Oprah Book Club…)

If you’re in need of some new books for reading and some scintillating literary discussion… or just an excuse to get out of the house …. I’m hosting a monthly evening for anyone interested in getting together to swap and share in some good reading – there’ll even be cake!


How it works:
You simply bring along a book or two you don’t mind sharing with other people (if you already shared books last time, you’ll still be permitted entry empty handed!). I will keep a record of which books belong to which person and who has borrowed them. When we all get together, you can give a brief synopsis of the book/s – or simply add them to the pile! Anyone interested can borrow the book until the following meeting. You then return with the book (if finished!) at the next meeting, choose a new one and so it goes.

It’s a great chance to broaden your reading options, get together or just indulge a Tuesday night outing.

If you’re interested in coming along, Book Swap Night will be….
