1. Framing/art shop. A place that will mount/mat and frame a good piece of art work. First hand experience more helpful and advice on level of Spanish needed useful too.
2. Upholsterer - I need a skilled repair done on our fabric couch. I will supply the fabric. Much used sofa/couch and needs to be repaired properly. Two large seating cushions need repair.

We had 2 pieces of artwork framed at El Corte Ingles. Whilst not particularly cheap, they had a really good range of frames and mounts to choose from, gave advice on measurements/look etc. and spoke English.

The best secret of Valencia is this framing store. Is so cheap and they are so friendly and typical valencianos...
It's difficult to find it and the store has very local hours (until very recently they were closed for "almuerzo" but now they have normal hours) but it's well worthy.
The official address is Ingeniero Vicente Pichó 3, closed to Alboraya but still in Valencia, but the store entrance is the other side of the building. You have to park in the gravel lot and it's in a strange area of town but you will be positively surprised.
They have a lot of frames, options and warm valencian aptitude so plan to spend some time while they help you and other clients to decide the best color, material, frame, etc.
Google the address and once you find the address you will go back often.
This tienda is perfect. I found it just after we arrived in 2005. The choice of glass (reflective or not), backgrounds, colours and frames etc is amazing. I could only say si and no but that wasn´t a problem.
The prices are minimal and the finished product is perfecto.
